We all know the "announcement." It comes about two-five days after a new baby makes their entrance: "We are so in love! Mom and baby are doing great!" But what truly is a new mom's postpartum reality? In her new solo play, Mom and Baby are Doing Great, playwright, performer, and new mom Amalia Adiv explores just that. Using research, interviews, and documentary theatre practices, Amalia weaves her own birth and postpartum story with the voices of others into a funny, heartbreaking, nitty gritty and brutally honest investigation of birth and *all* that comes with it. She invites us to question our fear of bodies, birthing, and our society's fraught relationship with the event that has brought all of us Earthside.
